Amino acids are supplied lyophilised (freeze-dried) because the dry state is far more stable than solution. But "stable" is not "indestructible" — heat, moisture, and repeated temperature cycling all degrade material over time, and a certificate issued at manufacture says nothing about what happened in transit.
Storage, in short
- Lyophilised powder is typically stored refrigerated at 2–8°C, protected from light and moisture.
- For long holds, colder storage slows degradation further; avoid repeated freeze–thaw of the sealed vial.
- Once reconstituted for a protocol, stability is much shorter and temperature-sensitive.
What we do
We store lyophilised product under controlled conditions and dispatch with handling guidance in every parcel. The goal is simple: the material you test should be in the condition its documentation describes.
For research use only. Nothing here is guidance for human or veterinary use.
